Wow, wow and more wow!

To start with we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Clear blue skies, big shiny yellow orb in the sky and an occasional light breeze just to cool us down a bit.

Parked up at the layby and then cycled the 5k to the loch. From there walked about 1km to the foot of the wall.

What a sight! At 180m and with amazing views, I knew this was going to be an epic day.

Only 2 people in front of us so we only had to wait a wee while for our turn to climb.

Glenn and I had met up on Friday evening to sort gear out and also agree a plan. I was somewhat relieved when it was agreed that Glenn would lead the pitches. I am more than capable of setting up good belay stances but I haven’t climbed for ages and this route is a Hard Severe 4b.

Glenn set off up pitches 1&2, combining them to make 1 pitch. I then climbed up to join him, removing the gear as I went. This happened all the way to the top, 5 pitches in total and 180m of ascent.

Arderikie wall holds the bragging rights of having 4 stars. It really lives up to it’s expectations. My photos dont do it enough justice.

What an amazing day! One that will be in the memory banks for life 🙂
